Ascent Trip Report

Boulder Hopping from about Tree Line ~ 11700ft to summit. Difficult with snow on rocks. Multiple sets of cairns, unclear which route might be better. Gusty South winds made boulder balancing difficult. Met a College group of ~ 10 descending. On descent, met a couple who left just after me about 1hr from the top. Overcast skies and snow flurries, I was worried about them. Group said they heard thunder, but didn't look like electric clouds, just cold.
An exhausting trip...Used up 4 litres of water (tnx Vaune). Pushed to the summit on Granola bars. No Pics (battery at home!). Boulder hopping down the most exhausting aspect, harder to see route, harder on the knees, easier to slip on the snow. The 1000' climb out of east creek was a killer. Drive time was 3hrs, including 1hr on dirt road. Nice campground at the trailhead, next time (why?) camp at trailhead, the day before). Couldn't see the Cross couloir, but guessed could see the edge of it from just West of Halfmoon pass.
