Ascent Trip ReportThis fine hill may only be a Corbett but it’s the most prominent hill in the locality with subsequently great views and is justifiably popular. Looked after by the Friends of Ben Rinnes with the co-operation of the Glen Rinnes and Kinermony Estates it has an excellent path to the top. The true summit is a rock tor 10 metres WSW of the trig point. The trig itself has an interesting brass topograph, sponsored by the local whisky industry, mounted upon it. We approached the area with trepidation through continuous heavy rain and low cloud but the metereological gods were with us as the rain stopped and the clouds lifted for the crucial 2 hours of the walk and then returned as soon as we returned to the car - rarely does this happen and all the more appreciated for that! |
