Ascent Trip ReportIt was a pretty foggy morning at Mt. Tammany but it kept the sun from beating down on me for a while. I got to the summit in about 55 minutes. Nobody was at the peak so I took a quick break and headed off on the blue dot trail to hike the loop. Part way down the mountain I heard something to my right and spotted a bear moving down the mountain about 40 yards off the trail. Then shortly after getting on the Appalachian Trail I saw another decent sized bear in the middle of the trail. She had just got done cooling off in the stream, crossed the trail and headed up the hill after her cub which went up before her. I got some pretty good video. It took 2:10 to do the loop. Great hike. Good workout.
