Ascent Trip ReportClimbed Si for a sunrise hike. Started at 5am and just made it to the top by 7am, when it was apparent that sunrise was immanent. The sun broke over the mountains around 7:30. It was very windy at the top, and snow was present for the last 1000ft of gain, but it was all well packed down on the trail. Sky was clear and the views were spectacular, especially of Mt. Rainier. We stayed about an hour at the general summit, and we did not attempt the haystack. |
