Ascent Trip ReportAfter visiting Warren County HP we continued north on 48, crossed over I675, entered Kettering and made a right at the second stop light, East Davis Road. We drove east to the third street on the right, Acreview Road (past Sunray Road), to the right on the way are 2 large tanks on higher ground. We drove Acreview to a right on Eagledale Circle.
We found no one home at house #788 so we went to the neighbor's house #796, the lady gave us permission to access her back yard. We found the BM Kauffman 2 at the orange Witness Post Survey Marker next to the wooden fence, behind the shed of house #788 ..... all as reported by Mike Schwartz in his TR of 2004 (good reading). My GPS at BM Kauffman 2 read 39.67871, 84.15888.
The definite highground is in the yard on the other side of the fence, at a large tree with a tree house (at 20 feet). I hopped over the fence and quickly walked to the spot. I went back to #796 to thank the lady and told her that I hopped the fence.
We drove back to Sunray Road, turned left and followed the winding road down to Stoneybrook Drive, turned left and continued to House #641 on the left ..... the highpoint is behind this house.
It's noted that the PB coordinates puts the spot south of the east tank (north of Eagledale Circle) at a lower elevation, about 75 yards north of the highground at #641 Stoneybrook Drive.
