Ascent Trip Report

This was an astounding summit for me. At this point in my life this is the highest elevation I have ever been to. We got in the snowmobile at about 5:00 AM and began hiking up the horribly unstable snow where we were doing some seriously tiring postholing. My guide and I got to a high col at around 13,000 feet where we put on our crampons and progressed up the ridge. It was somewhat cold to begin with but once we were on the ridge the wind was blowing at more than 45 miles per hour. We got to the summit and officially made awinter ascent of twining peak sinse spring equinox was at 7:21 PM. We got to this summit at 10:40 AM exactly and with excitement pointed out our next objective which was an un named 13er that I named Ariels peak for my little sister. After summiting Ariels peak I had serious AMS comming all the way from sea level just days before. I will explain more about this in the Ariels peak trip report. But I eventually descended and was ok after resting for a little bit at the hotel.
