Ascent Trip Report

Same old run up from Belvedere Road and instead of scrambling the last bit of basalt I actually took the stairs and experienced my first CO rattler! Just trying to close out a new month (working on certain local training hikes to bag the peak in every month of the year) and saw a small hole in the rock with a large shredded snake skin. I wondered if it might have been from a rattler but I did not see the snake so I stepped over the hole and as I did the rattling began. I went back to see if I could spot the weary serpent coiled near the rock but did not and decided that since it was kind enough to warn me away I would respect its wishes. Since it was only 15 feet from the top concrete steps I let others near the top to give it space
