Ascent Trip Report

Glacial travel. PD+. Class 2. 40 degree snow slope.

Notes: My first trip up onto the Columbia ice field. An epic single day push. 12 hours up and 6 down. Probably one of the most physically demanding trips I have done. I had only done just over a half dozen back country ski trips previous to this one. Glad my Atomic Hawx ski boots didn’t destroy my feet. Weather started overcast and then cleared up by mid day. We summited just as the could cap lifted. Can’t wait to return to the Columbia ice field for other peaks.
