Ascent of Peak 4412 on 2021-05-08
|Date:||Saturday, May 8, 2021|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||4412 ft / 1344 m|
Ascent Trip ReportParked on the PG&E access road which was blocked just before it got steep. went up to the end of the road where I remembered to turn on my GPS. From the end of the road it was exceedingly steep with modest brush, scanning ahead helps find the best route. Near the top there are rock bands and it gets even steeper, once above that it levels out to the brushy summit area. It was 300 feet of gain in less than 2/10 of a mile, with the last 1/10 of a that containing about 200 feet of gain before the flattish summit.
I did not want to try to go back that same way, so I opted to take a descent a bit more to the east. This worked much better, the slope was never too bad and I dodged most of the brush.
