Ascent Trip Report

My good friend Matt and I decided to hike The Thimble during a brief cold weather window. The rest of this week was to be hot so I didn’t wanna miss my chance. We started at about 8:20 am from the turnout just past the state park sign and ended at around 1:50 pm. On the way we went over Bonny Benchmark, Hut Benchmark, and Chimney Rock. The weather was sunny, cold, and windy when we began in the morning. We chose a class 3 route up The Thimble which I found to be very enjoyable with some fun exposure. As we ate our lunch on top of the summit, clouds rolled in very quickly so we decided to finish up lunch and head back to the car. Great day overall with amazing views.
