Ascent Trip Report

The day started with an epic hike to Rice Peak, attempting to seek the Pinal County highpoint. It was hot and I bailed after hiking about 4 miles. I ran out of water still a mile from my car. I was as thirsty as I have ever been - an extra mile, and I would be a statistic. I would have stepped over my own mom's body for a drink of water at this point.

I re-hydrated at a cafe in Summerhaven, then took a leisurely hike to the top of Mt Lemmon by taking the chair lift up. The gates at the observatory were open. I asked a worker if I could go to the top and he said okay. I hiked out the service road to my car.
