Ascent of Baring Mountain on 2021-04-05
|Date:||Monday, April 5, 2021|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||6124 ft / 1866 m|
Ascent Trip ReportHad to park about 0.7 from TH due to road conditions. Started in Sportivas, no crampons, and poles. Put on crampons at the top of the ridge line, brought out an axe just before the gully. Wore thermal top and arcteryx guide shirt until out of the tree line. Put OR top on at summit and kept it in for descent
1015: 0.7 away from TH
1315: Exit tree line at 4800’
1615: End ridge line
1730: At car 0.7 away from TH
Making the ridge is as terrible as everyone says it is. Gully wasn’t steep at all moving up to the notch, kinda surprised. One interesting section just above the notch that was pretty steep going up, had to front point going back down.
