Ascent Trip Report

A big loop from 130 to cover Black Mountain, Mount Stakes, and Henry Coe SP HP.

Henry Coe SP required heavy bushwalking and we almost regretted doing it.

I started a decent from a ridge in Henry Coe where there is supposed to be a trail, but it is essentially nonexistent. I occasionally recognized an old abandoned ranch road but it is totally taken over by nature with heavy enough vegetation to hinder easy passage. However, Henry Coe side of my route was a lot more interesting with many patches of California puppies in bloom. The puppies here are very small and yellow.
