Ascent Trip Report

I parked at the visitor center (Stepps Gap) and headed south on the upper of the two gated gravel roads. The road climbs steadily to the saddle between Gibbes and Clingmans Peak. At the saddle take a hard left and walk the grassy jeep track. You will reach a small tower and two dilapidated buildings. Walk between the buildings and you can pick up a social trail that carries you to the rock fin of the summit. No views due to dense evergreens. I carried on from there toward Clingmans.
