Ascent Trip ReportParked on the south side of the road (eastbound) just past the trailhead. I was able to park just inside the white line due to the snow bank, but I was still nervous being so close to traffic and being the only car there.
The trail looked packed down so I decided to go with just microspikes. I would post-hole if stepped on the edge or just off the packed down trail. More so on the way down, but not too much. The first 1.75 mile of the hike is flat or a gradual up. It's the last mile that is steep. Thankfully there are switchbacks, but still a hard climb to the top. Great views to the west and no wind at all. This was also my first solo winter hike.
