Ascent Trip ReportParked at Red Box. I forgot my Senior Pass in my other vehicle but no ticket.
Crossed the highway and went up the old road. Lots of hikers. 91 minutes to the Summit. Best I have felt since having Covid in November.
Very busy at the summit, so I didn’t stay long. Big group of very nice hikers from Hikers with Hangovers. Returned back down to the saddle and up Lawlor, summiting at 2:44. Only saw two groups on Lawler, and they had both come out the fire break. I went down the fire break which was very slippery landed on my butt several times and broke one of my tracking polls.
Cross the trail and went over the summit of peak 5166, then down the fire break cross the road back to Redbox total time three hours 38 minutes total distance 6.27 miles total ascent 2144 feet.
I was delighted to see that the gate to Wilson was open, and went over and climbed Occidental Peak.
Beautiful day and weather. Expected wind per the weather reports, but I did not materialize.
