Ascent Trip Report

Started at the 1st gate on Mill Creek Rd. and walked East along the gravel road. There was a big sign at the 1st gate for the Swallow Creek Wildlife Management Area. 1st gate was closed and a mile from the last gate on Mill Creek Rd. There were several gates blocking off spurs but they do not lead to Addis Gap. At the last gate on the main road, the gate is to the left while to the right slopes down and ends in brush. I went past the last gate and started up towards Addis Gap on the gravel road to the Appalachian Trail. At the AT turned north for a steady climb up towards Double Spring Knob. At the ridge leading up to Double Spring Knob, there is a small clearing. I started for the summit on the ridge. There was a short bushwhack of briers before finding deer/human trails that followed the ridge towards the summit. Summit was trees and rocks. I checked my GPS to make sure and then started down the same paths. A little over 4 hours for a round trip summit.
