Ascent Trip Report

Quick ascent of American Flag Hill via a social trail that starts at the end of the short two track that leads west off the TH parking area. I followed the two track until it terminated after about 0.2 mi. From there I noticed a social trail continuing straight west past the veg. I took this trail for a short distance but it ended up dropping down into a wash. Rather than loose elevation, I decided to just follow the SE slope up. About 2/3 the way up I reconnected with the social trail and followed it to the summit. The summit has a rock outcrop that appears to be the highpoint. My descent was almost the same, with one exception, I followed a different social trail through the midsection of my earlier hike up. This was a much better route that followed the social trail all the way back to the western end of the small two track leading back to the TH parking area. Recommended, if using my track, stick to the northern route where they split apart. This was my descent route and it follows the social trail to the summit.
