Ascent Trip Report

Busy trail on a beautiful February Saturday before the Super Bowl. Must have passed over 100 people along the trail. Started from Red Box and once we hit the saddle with the "trail" up to Mt Lawlor we headed that way. The route to Lawlor was freshly graded during the 2020 Bobcat fire. It's a steep climb but gets you up there quick. The top of Lawlor has been graded extensively, too bad. The route down from Lawlor to the trail is a nice hike. Easy to follow though we did get of track for bit. Once back on the trail to Strawberry we started seeing everyone. Once on top there were probably 30 to 40 people up there. Hazy view but still a nice one. We returned along the Strawberry Trail. Great day in the San Gabriels for February. Some pics
