Ascent Trip Report

The Mill Hill Loop Trail was very muddy due to recent rains and small "creeks" coming down the hillside. It makes difficult walking because the dirt trails are also slippery due to their clay composition. It was easier going cross-country to get around some stretches of up to 20 yards of wet clay with small pools of water to also avoid. The final stretch of cross-country to get to the summit was good walking without clay of pools of water, so long as avoiding the patches of brambles, like the one directly to the left of the trail's high point. Starting before or after the patch is relatively easy walking and leads to even easier walking, though still with a few logs to step over and having a leg pulled back as it catches on a (trailing blackberry) vine, as one gets higher on the broad ridge going up to the top.
