Ascent Trip Report

Reached North Pack about 45 minutes after departing from Pack. The views aren't quite as 360-degree as Pack but there's still a good view of Monadnock and an excellent view to the northwest just past the summit marker. I looped around to head back south via the cliff trail - the cliff itself has maybe the best view of Monadnock on the mountain and a great view of Pack as well. The remainder of the cliff trail was absurdly steep and treacherous with the snow - I probably did as much skiing down as I did hiking down. Add in the fact that the cliff trail had less snowpack than the Wapack trail, and I was exhausted by the time I reached the top of Pack again on my way back. Overall, a great winter day for my first outing in New Hampshire.
