Ascent Trip ReportParked at the Snopark and put on snowshoes immediately at the start of the trail. Unfortunately we ran into a group of snowmobiles driving up to the summit and had to deal with the noise and smell of exhaust. But fortunately, they broke a really great trail for us for the last 500ft up to the summit that really helped. Avy danger forecasted low-mod but we didn’t see any signs.
Moving time was about 7 hours at a leisurely pace and on snowshoes without heel lifts :( With our shortcuts we did just over 11 mi and 4800 gain.
Brought an ice axe and helmet but didn’t need them. |
