Ascent Trip ReportThis peak was my first of the great Southern Appalachian Mountains to be bagged in 2021. Feels great to be back!!
Heading up the short, but absolutely brutal ascent from Shining Creek Gap, I found this small summit with the help of my Avenza map. The summit itself is nothing more than a small bump on the ridgeline with clearly higher ground visible to the NW. Tagged a couple of possible high points, none of which were more than 15 feet off the trail.
There was a nice coat of snow on the trail. Weather was completely clear and it was absolutely dead calm out.
