Ascent Trip ReportParked at Notch visitor center. Followed NET/M&M Trail over Mount Norwottock and then to Rattlesnake Knob. From R.K. I back tracked to the the Ken Cutterbank trail and drop down the north side of mountain to Northside trail and followed it back to visitor center. Ice and snow was mostly on north facing portions of trail. I ended up taking of my spikes and carefully navigated the icy spots. This was my first visit to Mt Holyoke Range State Park. Mt Norwotock had feel of a big mountain. Lots of cliffs, exposed rock a bit of scrambling through the Horse caves and big views. I was surprised to see all the way to Mount Snow in Vermont. Very enjoyable. |
