Ascent Trip Report

I went for this peak without looking at any beta. The summit is a mess of giant boulders. There are two rocks of near equal height separated by a notch. Tricky route finding is needed to reach them both. My route involved lots of friction slabs and a big air leap. There was a cairn on what I felt was the lower yet easier summit. To reach the higher one (my estimate 6 inch delta), I took a large leap across the notch and landed on a lower friction slab then walked to the top. No register. Returning was the challenge. It was a short class 5.2 pitch with flaky holds that I didn't feel comfortable trusting my whole weight on. I recommend protecting this, somehow.. Maybe the belayer can act as an anchor and counterweight themselves. On the way back the big air leap is harder, since you are jumping from a lower rock. With my long legs I was able to make it, but my partner felt safer descending an ugly looking slanted chimney with some exposure. A rappel here might be nice to have.
