Ascent Trip Report

Driving : 2905 No Business Mountain Rd will get you just off Sweet Hallow Rd.
A short distance up 'No Business Mountain Rd' you will see another brown street sign saying 'No Business Trail'.
Do not park or attempt to walk up this road. The keypad gate is your first hint. It's private and the wrong road to get to your high point.

Parking : 37.480218, -79.374398
Here the road ahead is now posted. Horse field and barn on your left. Driveway to owners house is up the hill on your right I got passed by the owner of the house near where we parked. I didn't speak to anyone thus decided to park it here and walk it.

My gps track is one-way descent trip: 1.2 mi Distance; 0 ft Ascent; 580 ft Descent
The real Bedford cohp?: 37.47069, -79.375978 is the large rock north of the buildings. It's a foot higher according to my not very accurate mobile phone app. Eyeballing it from there sure does make it look like a winner to me. Hard to say if the large rock was placed there during tower construction or it's natural.

For you Appalachian Trail hikers out there this No Business Mnt has no connection with the No Business Knob shelter near Erwin, TN. Although the reason for the naming are probably similar.

Location of the current high point is south of buildings. I felt the larger rock north of the tower buildings to be higher (2021-01-03). Photo by Steven Fishback .
