Ascent Trip Report

Parked at the Crawford Train Station. Three cars but at the end of the day full parking lot and parking along the road. Hike to Avalon. Need Spikes for sure. Coming down was very icy due to the foot traffic. Once you reach the junction of the Willey trail and Avalon. You keep going and there will be a viewpoint on your right for the summit for North west. Then continue to a sign for 100 yards. Once onto go left for the view. The next left go towards Mount Willey. Snowshoes are required only because the trail needed to be broken in. But there was lots of traffic so spikes can be used. There are blow downs to see a view before the summit of Willey. You will hike up and around to the Summit but continue to the overlook for the views.
