Summit at 2:30 pm.
C2C - 14 hours
Left the car and trailhead at 6:30 AM. About 2 miles in there is a campsite near the river. to the right is an unmarked trail. Followed it to the meadow where we started our scramble to un-named alpine snow lake. Found it easier to stay on the 'trail' ascending the scree field than trying to make my own path. Regardless, watch out for falling rocks from hikers above. There were a few class 2 climbs that had good holds. We didn't need protection. Enjoyed the summit views & lunch with a few other climbers and then began our descent and followed our tracks down. We were distracted by the yummy wild blue berries and stopped to fill up our snack bags. Returned to the car in the dark. |
