Ascent Trip Report

The report by Chris is a no go now. The area is very heavily active. Big equipment with new very wide active roads everywhere. I highly doubt we 'highpoiners' are suppose to be back there. I got 1/3 into Chris's gps track at 3k mark (very muddy and newly created roads by the way), before climbing into loud, active work on a Sunday in December. Big stuff going on back there. I didn't like things and turned around before I got myself in trouble in various forms. I talked with a friendly gentleman who mentioned "Cumberland" something or the other. I had other high points locations in mind for the day and moved on.
Quick review of older reports, the original 3405/Dallas Rd is probably the best option to avoid getting into these active mining areas. One might even contact the mining company to see what can be done safely and properly? Heck, is the high point still a candidate and there?
