Ascent Trip ReportI read previous trip reports, looked at maps and satellite images to try and determine the optimal ascent. I decided to try and park at the end of of the side road off Plumkton road at 44.046879, -72.826160. I drove up rt 100, turned right onto Plunkton Rd, and then turned right on to the "side road". Bummer - it is blocked by 2 large tree/barriers. But, there is an opening and ATV's track lead through. I decide to park here anyway and being. You can see the Adams summit so it should be pretty easy bushwhacking up the open forest.
12:26 - Depart from Plunton Rd. It immediately becomes clear this road and area was used for logging. It's easy to follow the old logging/skidder roads up through the forest. About 2/3's of the way up there is a pretty good sized (60'+) cliff band, but there are obvious diagonal to get up it. Above the cliffs, the forst got a little thicker with lots of down white birch and tighter spruce/pine trees. Still, not too bad going.
13:16 - Summit. I signed the register in the jar.
13:20 - Depart the summit. I started retracing my route, but I noticed what looked like someone had cleared a "ski trail". The low branches had been trimmed off the trees (a few years ago). I followed that (it's the northern track in the GPX track). It ends up joining a skidder track that follows the creek to the north. Much much easier track. No cliffs, no tight pines, no down birch trees. Follow that route on the ascent instead of my southern track.
13:52 - Back at the car.
