Ascent of Rump Mountain on 2020-11-09

|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||3654 ft / 1113 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThe approach roads show on Gaia, US Topo, and Google Maps... but not completely on the traditional USGS quad. I was able to drive from East Inlet Road just before Norton Pool on snowmobile trail 145 eastward then north to the dead-end of the nearest road approach on the SW. From the last bend at 2370', I headed for the saddle W of the summit. Very steep, generally moderate bushwhacking with tough and easy patches, lots of meandering required. The ridge was a bit easier. On the indistinct summit, a well-hidden white register tube (it's directly behind the tree as you approach). Due south of that, another and more plausible summit candidate, with a nearby sunny rock with a bit of a view.
