Ascent Trip Report

VISIT #1 DATED 2010-10-27a.
PB shows 4 candidate highpoint area that you have-to go to before claiming it, on this first trip I only went to Area 1, all as following:
AREA 1 ..... An easy road/bushwack from Chemin de Frontiere ....... 2km, 1 hour RT.
From I25 exit 41, north of Terrebone, travel north on Rang Ruisseau des Agnes to a T junction with Rang de la Riviere, turn right and drive to Saint-Roche-de-l'Achigan. A left would take you across the river to the village center, instead turn right on rue Marchand to Chemin de la Ligne Mercier. Drive south to its end at 1.8km and turn left on Chemin de Frontiere, travel east another 1.4km to its end at a gate. This is the TH, on the right is a dirt road.
Walk south on the dirt road about .75km, look for orange tape blazes on a tree, turn right and follow the blazes west to the Highpoint area at about .25km. This whole area is flat, fairly dense mixed bush with a lot of wet spots and therefore very difficult to find a highpoint, I chose my spot at a GPS reading of 45.82750, 73.57807.

VISIT #2 DATED 2011-09-21a
The leaves are just starting to change colors. I came back today with the plan to visit the rest of the candidate high point areas (2, 3 & 4). I would not succeed with area 4 ..... my plan to access from the south was not possible, I'll have to go back to the drawing board, maybe after the foliage.

AREA 2 ...... 4.2km, 55 minutes RT.
From the junction of Rang Saint-Charles/Rang du Grand-Coteau (4.2km west of L'Epiphaine) we drove south on Grand-Coteau 4.5km to a right on Rue Charbonneau. If you approach from the south, drive north on hwy I25, exit 34 and travel north on Saint Henry 2km to a left on rue Charbonneau.
Follow Charbonneau as it turns right .7km to its end at a gate under the Power Lines, park here. The summit is to the north on the sand track under the Power Lines.
I walked up the sand track 2.1km to the obvious high ground ...... 33 meters past the 6th Tower, my GPS at the center of the Power Lines read 46.82257,-72.57028. The good sand track was wet in numerous spots, in one spot I had to slosh my way in knee deep water.

AREA 3 ..... a drive up.
From the junction of Rang Saint-Charles and Rang du Grand-Coteau, travel west on Saint-Charles for 1.2km to a driveway on the right with mailbox #1430. PB shows the HP northwest of this mailbox, however the ground to the northeast or southeast (both large open flat areas) could have the highpoint, I walked all of the areas, very difficult to pick a spot.
