Ascent of Mount Elbert on 2020-08-18
|Date:||Tuesday, August 18, 2020|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||14433 ft / 4399 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI hiked up the East Ridge route, with a small variation on the way back (trail vs. FSR). I drive a sedan, and I would not have made it to the upper trailhead...at least without damaging my car. But the hike up the FSR was quite nice starting just before sunrise. The East Ridge trail is longer and I only saw a couple folks all the way to the top. There were probably about 6 or 8 people wandering around the summit when I got up there. I spent about 30 minutes up there and chatted with a few people, took some pictures. It was a beautiful day for it.
