Ascent Trip ReportAfter yesterday's Drisinikos ascent.
Lovely circuit on sunny breezy morning, easy start after last night's storm. From SW, shrine and parking at highpoint of road; sign says Prionos 1616m. NB Google Maps often unable to distinguish paved from unpaved roads in Greece, so if using satnav, watch carefully thru Deskati as there are various unpaved options. My GPS track follows paved road. Red paint marks lead easily to summit, cylindrical trig pillar with 1954 written into concrete, no top plate. Highpoint is rock outcrop 10m west of trig, above sheer west face. I followed east ridge down, sparse paint marks, copious wild boar rootings lower down, seeming unusual on open hillside with scattered dwarf pines; then back west up grassy reentrant. Coincidentally hotel receptionist this morning had mentioned boar.
Next I head for Siniatsikon, summitting around midday.
