Ascent Trip ReportThis trip was to summit Washington which completes my AMC 4k footers. I also set out to hit some other points including Nelson Crag, Agiocochook Crag, TMP High Point, Ball Crag, Great Gulf Wilderness High Point and the White Mountain National Forest High Point. Arrived at Pinkham Notch Visitor Center at 7am. Departed by 7:15. Returned to car at 5:30. Weather was chilly from the start with me donning a hat, gloves, and a warmth layer. Our route on this trip was primarily Old Jackson Road to Nelson Crag Trail to Washington summit to Tuckerman Ravine Trail to Lion Head Trail to Tuckerman Ravine Trail back to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center. Total mileage was 10.2 miles. Nelson Crag and Ball Crag were on the trail. Agiocochook Crag, TMP High Point, Great Gulf Wilderness High Point and the White Mountain National Forest High Point were off trail and required careful rock hopping to avoid stepping on the vegetation. These are best accomplished in winter as to help preserve the vegetation. Overall great weather and visibility for October.
