Ascent Trip ReportAfter a morning ascent of Pieria Ori.
From NW, parked at junction before road bends L to end at a church. Unpaved road is good, should be OK with standard clearance. Walked unpaved road W to a col then SSE to a minor summit; would be driveable with suitable vehicle but too steep loose and brushy for my SUV. Just before the minor summit, at hairpin bend a mapped footpath, clear but mostly unmarked, descends to a 1500m col, bypasses another top then climbs the steep N ridge then more easily to summit. Three highpoints: first is 1m lower, second has Greek flag attached to stump of square trig pillar and is 15cm lower; my hand level made the furthest (southeast) summit the highpoint. 1h25 up, 10mins on summit, 1h25 down via NW summit with cylindrical trig, approx 1588m P85. Nice ascent, briefly sunny on top, a view of this morning's Pieria Ori and tomorrow's Sinaitsikon.
Down in good time before the forecast rain. I find a hotel, and next day summit 3 easy peaks, starting with Vounasa.
