Ascent Trip Report

After hiking Van BM, I parked at the Washoe County material storage area adjacent to NV-34 and across the road from Barley Road. I then used my ATV to follow Barley Road to the TH. Where the road changes to a dashed line jeep trail is where the road gets difficult. I was happy to be on my ATV and I was surprised to see vehicle tracks all the way to the TH. I'm impressed with the driver's ability to make it all the way up to the TH. There is a metal post signed "Route End" at the TH.

From the TH it is a straight forward hike up some fairly steep terrain. Between the 7600 and 8000 contour lines I followed horse trails which helped walking through the knee high sage. Good views from the summit.
