Ascent of Condon Peak on 2020-09-26
|Date:||Saturday, September 26, 2020|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||5710 ft / 1740 m|
Ascent Trip ReportTrail up the switchbacks from the dam towards Lake Eleanor. Left the trail about a half mile after the junction and did some light bushwhacking mixed with some class 2 and 3 scrambling for the last 700ft to the summit. Lots of fun 3rd class options up the cliff bands on this peak. Found the benchmark right on the summit and then hiked to the next summit/cliff a couple hundred yards away overlooking the reservoir where I found another benchmark marked “San Francisco HHWS 1957” right at the top of the cliff. Gpx accurate for the important part. Track got messed up on the trail in the tunnel at the beginning and the end.
