Ascent Trip Report

After the previous afternoon's Panakhaikon Óros ascent.

From NE, Michas, in the footsteps of christos (@ peakery, GPS track). Drove rough track (tough in Qashqai, would have little chance in standard 2wd) to a highpoint where a track branches L (38.00608, 21.87157, 1350m), too steep for my car in damp conditions (rain the night before) - and is short, serving a shack. Parked and walked this track, soon becomes paint marked trail thru trees, a little easy scrambling (avoided on descent), soon turning R onto a well marked track making an ascending traverse, passing a small settlement, to reach the saddle E side of the peak. From here a cairned trail leads to the summit, cairns a little scarce, in cloud I was reliant on OpenMTBMap on my GPS which showed the track accurately (it was missing from the OpenStreetMap version on my phone). A little easy scrambling on ascent, NB top part of route is unmarked so ensure you can find the way back down! Summit has a square concrete trig pillar and a small memorial. 2h10 up, 10mins on summit, 1h50 down. First proper hike of my trip, nice route, despite lack of summit views.

Olonos photos

After a longish drive south I made an afternoon ascent of Agios Konstantinos.
