Ascent Trip Report

Started at 0530 from the end of the road on elkhorn creek, the trail was a little hard to find at times with head lamps. Eventually the trail is non existent but following the directions that Tom Lopez writes about in his book we made it to the main ridge, from there it's fairly obvious where to go. On the decent we took the scree trail down through the main summit block, which gets you down fast but near the bottom of the summit block there were some down climbs that were fairly sketchy but doable. It was very smoky this day which made this climb even harder but we made it back to the tigs in an 8 hour round trip. Fun day!
