Ascent Trip ReportAttempted this peak en route to the Double Spring Gap Shelter from Derrick Knob. The off trail 'whack was easy at first. Not to far off the trail there's a large area that's fenced in via a metal fence. Not sure why.
I found what appeared to be the highest point, but was forced to stop just six feet or so from it due to the fact that it was covered in a mass of thorny weeds. I had no intention of scratching a cornea trying to bag it so I turned back. |
