Ascent Trip Report

Day trip to Ingalls with Janine. Hit trail at 7:45 am. Ingalls Pass at 9:15. Can't remember when we roped up or summited. Got back to car at 6:20. Used my cams from .4 to 3. I recommend a red, pink and black tricam too. May want a 8 through 11 chocks, but these are just for fun. Used a 60m rope that's missing 1.5 meter at the end. On the descent we rapped down to hanging belay. Then we had a choice: rap down to anchor immediately below us (not the one WAY down that requires a 70 m rope) or go longer to the anchor further down and to the left. There's not enough length to get to the main bomber anchor at top of first pitch (that is on the nice fat roomy ledge). So which intermediate anchor to use? I recommend folks go further down to the anchor on the left (climbers right) (and not the one we used). The one we used is strapped around a horn and it fees like it wants to pop up and out. It had one metal ring that was screwed shut but no rap rings either. I added a rap ring, and sent Janine first and watched it. When I got on it I kept low so pull was downward. But again, sketchy. Use the anchor thats farther down and off to the left.
