Ascent Trip ReportHit the trail with family of 7, ages 11 years old through 49, at approximately 7 am. There was a 45 minute backup on Chicken Out Ridge (COR), and we finally put it behind us a little before 10 am. All of us reached the summit by 10:45 am. The last of us (the two old parents) finished the hike at 2:20 pm.
Notables: the 17 year old waited for an hour at COR, waited 45 minutes at the summit, and was down by 1 pm, for a total climbing time of a little over 3 hours. He ran most of the way. Oh, to be 17 yrs old again.
We brought plenty of water and snacks, and ended up bring some back down with us. We wish we brought gloves because on the ascent, our cold hands didn't appreciate the sharp rock on COR. Our warm hands didn't mind on the way down.
Overall, a great experience. Highly recommend this hike.
