Ascent Trip Report

Estes Cone is hike that doesn't look like it's going to be that hard, but it's scrappier than it first appears. The final approach is especially a push through trees and rocks, but before you know it you're there, with epic views of Longs Peak and the other high mountains of RMNP. I did much of the return trip in the dark, which makes me wonder why I've been so freaked out by hiking in the dark in later years.
