Ascent Trip Report

Chiquita is a nice, straightforward walk up. Also, sometimes a little less crowded with so many tourists heading up Trail Ridge Road, Old Fall River Road is a little more of an afterthought. Much of the trail is above treeline, with views into the northern area of RMNP and beyond into the Poudre Canyon area. Though many hike Chapin, Chiquita, and Ypsilon together, I never summitted all three in one trip, despite multiple trips on this trail. Chiquita is a nice middle ground peak, with a grander view from its 13er perch without the longer effort it takes to get up to Ypsilon. A satisfying goal by itself if one isn't up for a more epic day.
