Ascent Trip Report

Since I finished my planned hike/trail run of Bondcliffs a couple hours earlier than I had anticipated, I decided to do this bonus hike of Jennings Peak.

I ascended via the Drakes Brook Trail which starts off moderate, but then becomes an unexpected tough climb the majority of the way up. It did have some switchbacks, so that helped. After a quick double check of the map, I turned left on the Sandwich Mountain Trail and shortly came to the spur path leading to Jennings. The last 1/10 mile is a bit steep, but you're rewarded with great views on two sides. A few other people at the summit, but it was nice to just sit on a ledge and enjoy the weather and quiet for about 30 minutes before heading down. The hike down the Sandwich Mountain Trail was uneventful.
