Ascent Trip ReportOn day 2 of my camping trip in Lake George, I hiked the Cat and Thomas Mountain Preserve. This is a great loop hike which I did counterclockwise. The first peak you reach is Thomas Mountain. This hike has some steep sections but it's a moderate hike overall. The view from Thomas is beautiful but slightly limited.
After Thomas you descend for a bit and then climb back up and hike along a ridge. Next up is Cat mountain. This is also a moderate hike with a peak that has 270 degree views of Lake George. The hike back to the trailhead is a steady descent and passes a couple beaver damns and a beautiful pond.
