Ascent Trip ReportCame in a long ways biking in from Goldbar to Necklace Valley, over Hinman and tried to go up the North lobe of the Lynch Glacier. It proved to be too steep and icy without crampons so I tried to stem climb the moat. The rock was slick and ice wasn't allowing for good penetration with an aluminum axe so I reluctantly bailed and went for Dip Top. It was cool to see the route go that far but disappointing to have another attempt. Next time I guess I'll just day trip it and bring crampons to tack on Lynch. |
