Ascent Trip ReportBiked to the Necklace Valley trail from Goldbar then hiked up the standard approach up LaBohn Lakes. Camped there the second night and got freaked out waiting out a thunderstorm. Mosquitoes were the worst I've ever seen getting bit every few seconds from trailhead to 7k. Glacier was all firn snow and went fine with an aluminum axe and microspikes. The final scramble was loose dinner plates but nothing different from the route up. Some of them look heavy so caution was exercised. Continued down the other side more or less on the county line then dropped down around a newly formed lake and back up a waterfall to climb up Daniel which didn't work out. Grabbed Dip Top as a consolation and returned the same way climbing Hinman a second time the next day on the way back. Boy what an exhausting trip! Nice views. |
