Ascent Trip ReportIt seems I am the first on the site to bag this regional highpoint. This is the highest point of the Podlasie voivodeship, and is totally unmarked. As you drive from the east heading west, you go through the village of Rowele. Just past this, the ground rises, and there are lots of wind turbines to the north. On the crest of a hill, there are 2 turnings to different turbines. The first unpaved turning is closer to the actual highpoint, but you have a cornfield in the way. Park at the second unpaved turning, and follow the track around until it ends. Then you finish the track, and turn around the edge of the cornfield up a small grass slope to the apparent highest point (it all seems fairly similar in height). There are no fences or gates or fields to trample through, so I didn't think it was trespassing! Nearby is the Poland-Lithuania-Russia tripoint. The area is also very pleasant and not as visited as the lakes to the west. |
